The essence of a path
Over the years, Vo’Arte has built a remarkable and visionary track record, having established several festivals: Lugar à Dança – Festival Internacional de Dança em Paisagens Urbanas, which has run for 15 editions; InArt – Community Arts Festival, since 2010; and InShadow – Lisbon Screendance Festival, which will hold its 18th edition this year. At the same time, it promotes and integrates numerous European and international interdisciplinary projects in the fields of performance, dance and cinema. In a pioneering endeavour of experimentation and research, Vo’Arte also founded CiM – Companhia de Dança in 2007, which has since been developing an innovative approach to artistic practices in the field of inclusion, through the body and image.
Vo’Arte is defined by its commitment to contemporary creation, inclusion and international outreach. It embraces interdisciplinarity as its central focus, working to strengthen ties between different communities and broaden access to art as a space for encounter and transformation.
For 28 years, it has fostered moments and settings of genuine sharing. Here, people, ideas, processes and visions come together. Communities are built. Opportunities are created.
Another important chapter in Vo’Arte history begins as we unveil our new digital vision. A refreshed identity and a new website, whilst staying true to the essence of our shared journey.
