Last Saturday, 6 June, we had a full house for an evening of film and dance, the result of a partnership marked by creativity and an inclusive collaborative effort.
The session opened with the screening of three dance films: RAW by Hares Pascoal (PT), Noppera-bo by William Yong (CA), and Elsewhere by Alexa Velez (USA).
Following the films, CERCIAMA and CiM-Companhia de Dança presented the performance Olhos Bem Abertos, the result of the entities’ ongoing training programme. Choreographed by Armando Luís and Carolina Duarte, the piece is about a body on high alert, torn between fear and the desire to move forward. Afterwards, we spoke with the performers and Hares Pascoal.
We were also joined by Ana Brás, director of CERCIAMA, and Vítor Ferreira, Mayor of Amadora; this marked a significant milestone for the InArt Festival as it ventured into a new venue, the Recreios da Amadora.
