CiMEU MAIOR

EU MAIOR

● Premiere 2018, Gulbenkian
Geração SOMA Project

A world of boxes as seemingly stationary as a city, each with its own secrets. You jump from box to box, measuring forces and exploring powers. Dancing, from sum to sum, fitting each idea into another, until they are transformed and new superpowers emerge from them. In this show, the children are the main stars, each superpower takes on a life of its own, transforming vulnerabilities into movements.

From idea to idea, from box to box, from everything to everything, with everyone!

-

Multidisciplinary show resulting from the project Geração SOMA who, for two years, worked with more than 1,700 children from Lisbon's public schools. A show where the children are the main stars and where each superpower takes on a life of its own, transforming vulnerabilities into movements.

EU MAIOR is the result of the work carried out at EB1 nº 72, EB1, JI Engº Ressano Garcia, EB1 de Telheiras and Escola Josefa de Óbidos, with more than 1,200 children between April 2016 and June 2017.

The show features four professional performers from CiM - Dance Company, 65 children and young people and the participation of the Trifonética Orchestra, composed of students from the Articulated Music Education Programme and dedicated to the creation of original repertoire.

On 20 February at 3pm, 1,200 people sold out the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation's Grand Auditorium to watch and give a standing ovation to the show EU MAIOR by CiM - Dance Company!
