SOMATATI

for children and families
● Sesimbra
March ↝ 2022

The characters return from a suspended and distant time. But when they meet, they take on a life of their own and enter another dimension. A new box of memories awaits them, and new strengths and powers are measured.

You dance from sum to sum, fitting each idea into another, until they transform and new superpowers emerge from them. But what is a superpower? They are acronyms and powers that can be read both forwards and backwards! A serious sum, made up of letters, numbers and words. In a cycle of emotions, we live the past, dance the present and project the future. These are things of the world that are revealed and happen there.

-

We dive into the identity and presence of the characters who our four dancers interpret and give life to, these characters where already a part of the show EU MAIOR, created as a follow up to the artistic and inclusive project Geração SOMA, the project that proceeded the creation of SOMATATI.

The main questions that we suggested to research were: How can we return to being present after an interruption of two years, caused by the pandemic? What traces can this worldwide event have in the stories of these characters? How to continue this journey, beginning in EU MAIOR, now looking into the future?
